Lord, open up that Holy Ghost door (Luke 11:9, John 10:1). Set me aside from the weights of sin (Hebrews 12:1). Let my strength in you begin (and end). Lord, I’ve tried and struggled for a while. Sometimes I think you’ve forgotten that I’m your child.

Although I saw plenty headed my way. It did not stop and it was hard for me to stay. Fear came and I lost my joy. Every now and then, I felt like I was being played with like a toy. Your word was strong and deep within my soul. But there were some things I did not want to behold. On to you and let go of a lot that followed me. All this and more I continue to see…

But Lord, who has the power? Who knows my name? Who holds the key to both open and close doors—even when there’s shame? To let be bound on Earth, to bind in Heaven. And let be loosed on Earth, to loose in Heaven (Matthew 16:19, Matthew 18:18).

Only a forgotten soul would not know that he is worth more than them all. Only one without the true home would not know that he is never alone. Only one that never knew peace would not know that there is no void; if God, all powerful, handles the sword (word of God rightfully dividing, 2 Timothy 2:15). Only he that rises early in the morning and never knows the way; would not know that you are the guide unto which I pray.

-written by Christine E. In fact, O’Connor lived more than six years with mesothelioma. It is a cancer caused by being exposed to or inhaling asbestos. The disease develops in the protective lining that covers the internal organs within the body from malignant (deadly, spreadable) cells that form in the mesothelium. That is why the cancer is called mesothelioma. It is a disease that should’ve taken O’Connor’s life within one year of the diagnosis, according to the doctors.

The amazing factor about O’Connor’s story is that he exemplifies the reason why people should believe in themselves, hope for a better tomorrow, and have faith it will happen. Rhio O’Connor utilized every tool possible to live. This included seeking advice from doctors and other patients, researching information, engaging in therapeutic activities, etc. No matter how difficult the situation became, O’Connor maintained a positive attitude and lived a full life until his very last breath. More information on O’Connor’s bravery as he battled “mesothelioma” can be accessed at the website: http://www.survivingmesothelioma.com/.

In terms of how I would face a situation like O’Connor’s, well, currently there is a battle in my own life with a brain tumor. Whereas O’Connor’s story is heartwarming, mine is one where I face each obstacle on a daily basis. My circumstances do not include a malignant tumor. However, any situation where a person is dealing with sickness on their brain, it is a dangerous one.

I was diagnosed in October 2001 with a noncancerous brain tumor. At that time, doctors told me it was too life threatening to go in my brain and remove the tumor. They said a surgery could cause permanent brain damage that led to loss of mobility. And since the tumor was small and nonmalignant, they thought it best to try and shrink it out through medicine anyway.

When I was first diagnosed, they referred me to a psychologist. People immediately think this is a bad thing. For me, it was a way to discuss the problems that my sickness created. An example is the fact I have nine siblings. They said they would always be there for me. Yet, when I got sick, as each year passed, their involvement in my life has become rare. For years some of my siblings considered me to be a sort of superwoman, someone who could do anything. If this was the case, then the brain tumor has been my kryptonite because now I struggle to walk without pain.

Since sickness normally comes with a lot of hurting, medicine is involved. When I was first diagnosed, doctors put me on six different medicines, including Zoloft for depression. At the time, I had no income. Due to this factor, I had to improvise. For example, the medicine for my brain tumor cost me almost $90 every two weeks. I told doctors the medicine was costly and plus it was causing me to vomit. The doctors reduced my medicine intake by one-half. This led to me purchasing a 30-day supply of medicine for only $90 once per month versus buying a 15-day supply two times per month at double the cost. Another area where I eliminated the cost of medicine totally was to take the free samples of medicine from the psychologist. Just ask your doctor for free samples. If none are available, tell the doctor to prescribe a generic brand. By doing so, a person can purchase medicine for $4 at their local retail or grocery store that includes a pharmacy area.

A person who gets a disease such as cancer or a brain tumor will need access to both doctors and hospitals on a regular basis, especially in the first few years of treatments. For me, places such as UAMS, Little Rock, Arkansas provided a grant that enabled me to get free treatment with $25 co-pay (per department) every time I saw the doctor. They don’t just offer this service to you, a person must request it. Nevertheless, transportation to and from the hospital costs me up to $150 to get someone to drive me to UAMS, Little Rock, Arkansas.

In terms of my own situation with a brain tumor, the psychologist told me it might be an ongoing problem. He refused to sign the papers for me to go back to work at that time because I did not know how to handle employment with a brain tumor. As a result, I was encouraged to apply for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI). It is a fixed income of social security that the government pays to individuals who have worked on a job in the past but become unable to work through a disability. Due to the fact my psychologist knew the right people, my social security was expedited.

Within a nine month timeframe, I began receiving $479 per month in benefits. The process normally takes two to three years. If a person has any assets worth over $2,000 at the time they began receiving SSDI, they are ineligible to receive an additional check from Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Just because my name was on the property with my father’s, I could only receive the disability income but not the SSI. More information on this topic and even how you can retain disability benefits while working can be obtained at the Social Security website.

So, now let’s talk about health insurance. What can be done when you have no income and therefore limited access to health insurance? In my situation, I contacted the local Department of Humans Services (DHS) office. They were able to provide information on how I could utilize a three month spin-down through Medicaid. Basically, if you have no income, this program is easily accessible. They take three months worth of your income and add it together. If your hospital bills exceed that amount, then they are paid and you are given a 90 day Medicaid card to present to the hospital or clinic at the time of your appointments. Providing your income is more than the hospital bills, you become ineligible for the program. In the event there are children under the age of 18 years old living with you, programs such as ARKids First exist to cover their medical problems as well. Again, ask your local DHS office for more information. They can also help you receive Emergency Food Stamps and employment training as well.

Remember that the sickness might alter your life, but you can still live. I exercise in my home and try to eat healthy. When I’m tired and need energy, I take those 5 hour energy shots or a supplement made out of the pulp from 12 different fruits called Xango. Since my knees hurt and I have severe headaches where I cannot go to church all the time. I attend classes online at a Christian university. Biblical scriptures are incorporated into every course and I am required to discuss scriptures in my assignments as well. I don’t eat three meals daily due to costs. However, an alternative to one meal is a granola bar that contains Omega 3 and protein.

Another situation I face is that people, including friends and family, seldom visit me. So I sometimes go to the local pawnshop, credit union, or grocery store and talk to the supervisors. It’s a way to stay in contact with reality. Also, I am not able to spend money at a movie theater or an occasional fancy restaurant. To accommodate this need, from time to time I order a pizza and visit free online tv websites (Hulu, TVOne Online, Trutv, Lifetime, etc.) that can be accessed through most Internet search engines.

Keep in mind that few people make plans to become sick. However, it is something many people face everyday. There are many expenses associated with sickness and even more when people treat you with a “do it yourself” attitude. Live life to the fullest, even if it must be done while dealing with sickness.

-written by Christine E. The Atlanta Falcons are acting like they won the Superbowl last year. Pet lovers have horrific looks on their faces every time someone brings the subject up about the dog fights. The NFL is trying to please one category of people but not considering the general public as a whole. Some of Vick's fans deserted him over this ordeal. Yet, Vick was not even my favorite player (Brett Farve was/is?) and I don't hate him.

Everyone makes mistakes. I grew up with a father as a preacher, under one of those super holy ministries, and loving God. Even with all that, I have sinned. The Holy Bible indicates, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her" (John 8:7, King James Version). Yet, the entire passage of John 8:2-11, KJV addresses this issue. These verses alone make me unable to judge Michael Vick.

One recent example is that I am deeply in love with this guy whose father is the minister of the church I have most frequented. The guy's nickname is Chubby Hill, Jr. (I am not talking about the criminal seen on Most Wanted either) and he is the eldest son of that minister. Chubby Hill, Jr. is about 20 years older than me; has never talked to me in that type of way; and as of today (April 2, 2009) I still don't know where he currently lives. However, due to some dreams I begin having back in 2000 about him, I fell in love.

According to the Holy Bible, this makes me having committed adultery. The bible says if you even think upon someone and desire them for yourself, you have committed adultery (Exodus 20:14 and Matthew 5:27-30, KJV). I wouldn't necessarily call what I have for Chubby Hill, Jr. "lust" per se...Moreover, I desire to marry him one day--God's willing. The point is, we all have things in our lives that can go either way.

Now, I have covered why Michael Vick deserves an opportunity to sign in the NFL and play quarterback again from a biblical perspective. If nothing else, God's word says, "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you" (Ephesians 4:32, KJV). As you can see, the scripture isn't just talking about salvation.

Nevertheless, I will look at this from another perspective as well: the NFL. There are many players in the NFL as well as other sports who get all these opportunities to stay with teams and/or sign with another team. T.O. is one of the biggest 'problematic' players in the league. The quarterback can throw the ball to T.O. 30 times and he only catch 5 passes. Yet, when the team loses, he gets in front of the media and swears if they'd thrown the ball to him at least 10 times, they'd won the game. Well, it is at those time I believe T.O. should look at the 25 dropped passes--if he'd caught all of those, that does not mean the team would win. My point is that T.O. brings drama to the football field and the locker room. For the 2oo8 Season with the Dallas Cowboys, he was more of a distraction rather than an attraction.

Then there is Matt Jones. For God's sake, he hails from Arkansas and that is where I grew up. Not only that, Matt shares the same last name as I. However, he is of no relation, thank God! I used to have the upmost respect for Matt. Yet, he got drafted in the NFL and started getting caught with drugs. I cannot honestly say he was not doing them while quarterbacking for the Arkansas Razorbacks which would be sad, if that was determined. I see that Matt Jones gave an apology, paid a small fine, and was not put in jail. He is still playing for his NFL team. What is an upcoming young quarterback in the State of Arkansas takes this example of Matt Jones to believe it's okay to do drugs because the punishment is light?

Now, switching to a totally different sport--Swimming. Michale Phelps broke all sorts of records in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He was given all sorts of deals and everything. Yet, Phelps got caught with the "pipe" in hand/mouth. Yes, Phelps was "puffing his pleasure" and this picture was seen all over the world. While Phelps made many youth from all over the world dream of being the next "great"...he also sent those same youth a bad example. One could assume he was saying it is okay to do drugs. Yet, Phelps was not portraying that. Phelps lost some endorsements. However, he was not put in jail or anything. Phelps is a role model. What is some young child dies from trying to be like that part of him?

Then there are the Dennis Rodman cases. Rodman kept getting placed on another team. People still adore Rodman and he has done some really far-fetched things in his life-time; including the most recent on "The Celebrity Apprentice". All Rodman got was fired by Donald Trump--and a good "scolding" by KOTU (Kings Of The Universe) teammates.

T.I. was caught again with guns. He is getting 1 year and 1 day worth of jail time, community service, and a fine. People still adore T.I. even after this being his 30+ charge.

Chris Brown beat Rihanna like there was no tomorrow. Yes, people got angry. However, Rihanna forgave him. I forgave him, although I thought it made no sense because he really cares for her. And everyone else should get over it and forgive Chris Brown as well. How can a man change without forgiveness?

Now, I could go on. There are many celebrities out there getting good treatment. Despite it not being the right then to do, EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET OVER IT and forgive Michael Vick. I want to see him play in the NFL again, pick up the broken pieces of his life, and learn from this mistake.

The media and pet lovers or dog lovers, in this case--have all had a really good laugh over this incident. Y'all took Michael Vick for every penny he had and then some. I had tears in my eyes even listening to this story. After you've beaten a man down and taken away his honor, what has he got? Nothing. I don't want Vick to feel like there is no reason to live and commit suicide. You know, this situation could very well cause that. America is better than that. This is "The Land of Opportunity". In saying that, people should have the opportunity to be forgiven and given the second chance. We are not even treating Bill Madoff like a hard criminal. And he wiped out many people's life savings. It saddened me to see old senior citizens having to go back to work due to Madoff. This guy took folks for over $50 billion. Michael Vick had some dogs in his yard, in cages, and they sometimes fought each other. No one would be saying anything if these same dogs were roaming the streets killing homeless people--but belonged to no one. Where the animal lovers at now? Because everyone knows the animals would get "put down" but no one would remember the homeless folks.

Which brings me to another point--they set those animals up really well. Dogs living the high life. Sadly, there are so many people homeless in the streets--including children. How you animal lovers feel about that? Placing more value on an animal's life than on a human being's. God gave us command over the animals--they are not our equal.

Everyone who thinks some team should sign Michael Vick and this drama stop, comment on this posting.

-christine e. jones
hope, arkansas

Christine E. I am always writing new materials about life and the things that people deal with everyday. I can write a rap or song on any topic. It is a God-given talent.

I am interested in selling some of my original materials to try and earn money and pay some of my bills. Over the past eight years I have struggled to make ends meet. My background of talents, abilities and education are far too advanced for me to be in the state of being I currently am. No one enjoys being in stand stills where nothing is going right. So, I pray I can make some things happen with the help of the Lord.

The other day I was waching Rev Run's reality television show on MTV. One of the shows talked about having a prayer list and putting it in plain sight where people can see it. Rev Run tried to reiterate to his youngest son that a person should not ask for materialistic things. However, his son, Diggy, had asked for guidance.

I ask God all the time for things like this. Sometimes we believe we are just watching a show or relaxing. Yet, I believe that we sometimes are shown certain things because they are placed there to help us out in life. I know Rev Run raps. I know I love writing gospel raps. He loves to sing his raps. I love to write my raps. To me, I see an opportunity for us both (if he's willing) to benefit from our talents. While I know Rev Run is very capable of writing his own lyrics, I feel I could present something a little different. There is no use for my writings to sit stagnant. So, I am trying to get a message out that I would like to sell some of my songs and raps.

To everybody that knows somebody or is anybody who would like to see how good I am in writing, please contact me. I have information listed all over my blog in ways I can be reached. Thanks.

Christine Elaine Jones
PO Box 1636
Hope, AR 71802-1636
email: lefty2u2@yahoo.com

Christine E. Well, for starters, I would pick the perfect case for me. There have been lots of numbers in my life that have been integral parts of my life. For example, I like the number 23 because Michael Jordan wore it as a Chicago Bull. He was my favorite basketball player of all time. Then there is numbers 4, 21, and 22 that I wore as an undergraduate college basketball player for the Bradford College women's basketball team. And that's just for starters.

Anyway, I would pick my number. Then I would have a system. I won't tell exactly what the system is. However, I would count in numbers. Even when I surpassed number 26, I would continue to count on until I decided to say "Deal". I would go to the show and collect as high an amount of money as God allows me to receive. I pray that amount is the $1 million. So, "Deal or No Deal" executives (and especially you, "banker"), get ready for a show like none other when you decide to allow me to come center stage.

Christine E. One of the main reasons why I began writing this newsletter is so I can spend a little time with Jesus. While I am dealing with sickness, going to school, trying to grow a small sole proprietorship, and dealing with many different situations; I don’t want to neglect Jesus.

So, here is a section I created for people to remember that God is still God. We will call this the Remedial Class because God is plain and simple.

If you have a problem, Jesus is the solution.
One wrongdoing many send you to Hell. And one repentance may save your soul.
The bible tells us to love everybody the same (John 15:12, KJV). Yet, people take this the wrong way. This does not mean we are to be in-love with everybody. People should realize that they cannot love a neighbor as they love their spouse. Consider the bible when dealing with love. There are many scriptures to guide you in the right direction. A person cannot love their spouse the same as anyone else because there are some “needs” that you must give to a spouse that if you give to another, then you commit adultery (Exodus 20:14, KJV). In doing so, you would commit sin against God. Not only that, if you went around “laying” with everyone, you would end up with a disease and probably die.

(This posting was made by Christine E. Well, if no one else understands that, I do. In addition, I can recall how many preachers have indicated that what a person is in their flesh, they are like that in the spirit. So, I got to thinking about the many times I have heard that discussed. During those times, I did not think those words were plain and simple. Yet, a year or two ago, I began to understand that a person’s flesh is like their spirit.

For instance, if a person is a hard worker in their flesh, then they will be that way for God. In the same respect, if that person is lazy in their flesh, then they will have a lazy spirit as well. Thus, one immediately begins to understand why after a person receives the Holy Ghost; there are some things that God has to still work out of that person. Yes, the bible does say God won’t dwell in an unclean temple (1st Corinthians 3:16-17 and Isaiah 6:5-7, KJV). However, too many people have mistaken that to mean that they are 100% ready for heaven and that no “evil” (bad habits, etc.) dwells within them when they receive the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost is given to help us live holy. In the bible, it informs us that after we receive the Holy Ghost, we will have the power to walk right, talk right, and live right (Acts 1:8, KJV).

So, I believe that people have the wrong perception of the Holy Ghost. Then, at what point does a person receive the Holy Ghost? Well, when God decides that person is clean enough for him to give it to them. There still may be some things in that person that the Holy Ghost must take. And that person must constantly seek after God so that Holy Ghost spirit can grow. That is how the person gets closer to God.

I was thinking that some Saints have the wrong perception about how God operates. For example, I know this prophet that use to talk about how he was sick. He also talked about being scared of small spaces—especially when big, African mosquitoes invade that space. Yet, this is one of God’s prophet’s saying he is not perfect. Still, this imperfection does not mean that prophet lacks the Holy Ghost.

What it means is that God may have used those incidences to keep the prophet rooted and grounded in him. The sickness could have been a humbling experience whereas the healing from the sickness is a testimony that can help others. As for the small space circumstance, well, it only lets others know the prophet is human. Sometimes people believe that those who sit in high places are out of their league. I did not know that God had a league.

My bible says that God is no respecter of persons (Romans 2:11, KJV). So, the same Holy Ghost he gave to one Saint (who is living holy), he can give to another. Yet, the bible also says there are different gifts that the church has (1st Corinthians 12:4-14, KJV). Thus, it is only appropriate that one person may have more of the Holy Ghost than another. I see this for two reasons. One, that person may have been ordained to be that holy. The second reason is because that person may have pleased God and earned that level of holiness. In either situation, the amount of Holy Ghost that one person has over another is within the will of God. Why? Well, it is because the Holy Ghost is the power…to even be a witness of God (Acts 1:8, KJV).
Anyway, I sometimes wonder why I act certain ways. As I said before, some preachers have talked about a person’s spirit being like their human side. If you are always trying your best in your flesh, then that is how your spirit is as well.

I know that even when taking classes, I try to get “A’s”. At times, things happen where I might get a “B” grade for the class. However, the fact remains that I tried my best. All a person can do is their best.
I was passing da ball and scoring left and right, all night.

So, I decided to write this section about how each of us should give 100% in the things we do. We say that we are of God. Yet, we don’t try to give him 100%. When we were not of God, I know that most of us gave 100% to a number of things we did.

I remember this one time I had told my basketball teammates that we would score 100 points in one game my senior year in undergraduate school. I had told them I wanted that team to be forever known as the first one at that school to reach a 100 point game for women’s basketball there. So, by the time we reached the last home game of the season back in 1997, we still had not scored 100 points. My teammates and I got to talking before the game and I gave them my word that before that night was over, we would have those 100 points.

Well, in the first half, we put up about 40 to 47 points on the scoreboard. I remember mostly allowing my teammates to score as I was “padding” my assists. Yet, I also remember that during half-time, the two refs were arguing over who was the best on our team. One ref thought I was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the other thought the second best player on my team was the MVP. I walked by those refs that night. And I remember thinking that before the night was over they both would consider me the best. I thought that there would be no discrepancies about it.

At half-time, that is when one lady from the college showed up. It was the lady that normally came to my games. In fact, she attended the games so regularly that some people from other teams thought she was my mother. She was not. We were just good friends and luckily for me, I had someone to talk to while up north attending school. My own mother had died back in 1993 just before I went off to college. This lady (her name was Brenda from Bradford College) had always tried to cheer me up and make me feel welcome at the college—as did many others.

Anyway, on this particular night, she told me that she might as well go home. This was due to the fact that we were already blowing the other team out. (I think the score was 40 or more to 10 at that point). I told her to stick around because I was going to put on a show in the second half. I told her that we were trying to reach a 100-point game. She started laughing and went to sit down.

I remember the 2nd half starting with me doing some scoring. I think at half-time that I only had about 15 or 17 points. Well, in the second half the other team got wind that we were trying to score 100 points on them. They went to knocking me down, stalling the game by keeping the ball for long periods of time, and putting some of our worst free throw shooters on the free throw line just to slow the game down. Yet, every time I got fouled the refs let it go. So I asked them why I was not receiving any free throw attempts when I was being fouled so much. They told me that I did not need any help and they felt sorry for the other team. I shook my head. It was not my fault that I was executing what I had told my teammates before the game so well.

I knew what was going on and told them (both the refs and the other players) they could not stop me. As the game progressed and was winding down, I remember it being about 2:45 left in the game. We still needed 17 points to win and it was the other team’s ball. My teammates told me to give up because there was not enough time to get to 100. I told them that the game was not over yet. My teammates told me to take myself out the game before I got hurt from being knocked down so much. I told them I could handle it and the other team would regret what they had done by the time I got through with them. My teammates did not believe we could score 100 point. My teammates did not believe in me.

Yet, I believed in me. So, after that timeout was over, I pressed the inbounds passed and took the ball away from one of the other team’s players. Then I hit a lay-up. After that, the other team stalled the ball for a while. When we finally got the ball back, I went down and hit a 3-pointer. I begin pressing again and stepping behind the line hitting 3-pointers every time I got the ball from that point on out.

I brought us to 97 points, with only a few seconds left in the game. It was the other team’s ball. I made them turn it over. Then my teammate took the ball out on the side, threw it to me and I let it fly from behind the 3-point line. (In fact, I was a good distance behind the 3-point line when I let the ball go. Everyone could see that—including the scorekeeper). As the buzzard sounded, the ball went into the net with a swish.

One of the guys from Bradford College’s men’s basketball team was keeping the score clock. He put up 99 points on the score board. All of us were saying that I was well behind the 3-point line. Then the refs raised their arms and said it most definitely was a 3-pointer. The guy changed the score board to read 100 points and everyone erupted. The refs left the floor talking about how they had never seen nothing like that and shaking their heads. My teammates were rubbing my head. Everyone was jumping around in excitement. They had gone wild!

I gave them the show. I gave them the victory. The refs agreed that I was the MVP. When it was all said and done, the newspapers said I scored 47 points, of which 15 of the points came off 3-pointers in the last 45 seconds of the game.

I almost recorded a quadrupled double that night: 47 points, 12 to 14 rebounds, 10 assists, and 9 steals. Numbers that even the professional ball players would feel good about. Those numbers earned me national recognition…and I have the stats to prove it. (That is just a side note to all those who find this too good to be true).

Later on, the athletic director told me that I must have scored 51 points in that game because 4 points were unaccounted for. He told me that I must have been hitting them so fast that they could not keep up with it in the books. At any rate, I did what I said.

This is an example of how 99 and 1/2 just won’t do. As I sought perfection on that night back in the Spring semester of 1997, God seeks perfection from us every night. Always remember that God told us to be perfect like he is perfect (Matthew 5:48, KJV). By doing that, within the will of God, we cannot go wrong.
------------------------------
an original exert written by the author:
Christine E. Sometimes people think that using others is a lesson to be learned. However, it's just a mistake that will cost you later. Chalk that up as a pricelss lesson.

Life’s Lessons…
Life’s Lessons 1: There will always be some lessons in life that we all can learn. So, when given the opportunity to learn, listen—because something might just hit home.

Life’s Lessons 2: Fix your own life before trying to work on someone else’s. The holes we dig must be covered. If you try to fill a hole with something other than what goes in it, nothing looks right. In simple terms, don’t try to fix a situation in someone’s life by having everyone look at them when God is working on that person in secret. If God don’t reveal, then what gives you the right to?

Life’s Lessons 3: Don’t try to send a lot of sinners at a saint for something being done in that person’s spirit. When it comes time to reap, you might not like what you sowed.

Life’s Lessons 4: Some doors are never meant to be opened. You might not like what is being loosed from it.

Life’s Lessons 5: Just because a person is seen going to the store everyday, it does not mean they have a lot of money. If you are paying attention to what that person is doing, someone is probably paying attention to your life as well? Think about it, if you actually see a person at the store everyday, then guess where you are?

Life’s Lessons 6: Sometimes God gives us situations in our lives that we do not understand. Just because someone else doesn’t like it or believe that you should have it, this does not mean God will take that away.

Life’s Lessons 7: Sometimes the smallest things in life pack the most heat!

These lessons were written by Lefty2u2. Well, I have my own version, only it's called "You might be a Christian...". All of the phrases were created by me. They are not meant to be disrespectful of God or of Christians. In fact, they were written to make us all think a little bit more about life...in general. Enjoy and remember that these phrases still belong to me. Also, you can find them listed in my newsletter, "CHANGE-IN TIMEZ" which is also owned, produced, and edited by me. While I just started the newsletters in August 2007, they are my way of giving back to God for blessing me with such a wonderful gift of writing. I have been writing since age 9 and have even won poetry awards. At this time, the newsletters are not on a large scale. Yet, all those who request them receive the copies they request. Also, if God lays it upon my heart to send someone copies, I do it out of my own pocket. God rewards those who obey him and someday, God will give me my due.

You might be a Christian…

…if you refer to the door bell ringing as “Jesus knocking at your door”.

…if every time you sit down to a meal you refer to it as “The Last Supper”.

…if you look forward to going to church just to sit in the “Amen Corner”.

…if someone asks you to go fishing and you think it means door-to-door witnessing.

…if someone tells you to “Go get my piece” and you bring back the Holy Bible.

…if all the numbers on your license’s plate are 7’s.

…if you are told to “Bless the food” and you offer it up as a burnt sacrifice.

…if you fill out a job application and refer to a second language as “speaking in tongues”.

…if you refer to your home as “The Everlasting Tent Revival”.

…if “The Rock of Salvation” is your welcome mat.

…if the Jackpot on your slot machine reads,
Be Holy Be Holy Be Holy

Christine E. I have posted the answer below. Ask this question to yourself and see how you answer.

Statement asked was:
*Ancient American tribes should not be equated with the lost tribes of Israel.

My Answer was:
I disagree with the statement because Titus 3:7 says, “That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” If I believe that I am one of God’s heirs and God is not a respect of persons, then I have to believe that Ancient American tribes are equal to the lost tribes of Israel. John said he had seen 144,000 of all the tribes of the children of Israel sealed (Revelations 7:4).

Then John went on to say in Revelations 7:9-10, “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; (10)’And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.’”

Only 144,000 are sealed from the lost tribes of Israel. There are many from other nations who shall receive a crown of life. As a result, if I believe those tribes will see God and be rewarded with eternal life, then I must believe that any other tribe that believes upon the Lord and confesses him as their Savior, well, they shall also receive a crown of life.
James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” The Bible does not say the crown of life goes only to the Jews. But I'm still lonesome (Chubby, where are you?), why did it have to happen--to me (Boy, why did you sit in my vehicle after church that Saturday night and made me start having dreams about you)? Oh Lord, I've got enough tears, to fill a sea. Many a time, I've often wondered, yes I have (Chubby, why have you been gone so long. Won't call nobody, won't write, won't e-mail, won't come home)...Why people act the way they do (I mean, it's been five years and I'm just crazy about you, Lord, this needs to end. I wonder if Chubby even knows how I feel about him). And why many times, it seems like I have no family? Oh Lord, I've got enough tears to fill a sea.

But its like, nothing matters any (Y'all folks ain't Chubby. There is only one of him and not even his father and mother know where he is. I'm talking about the one from Arkansas, in my neck of the woods. Not somebody else. The one that goes to my church and is MUCH OLDER than I am. Not hispanic, not mexican, not white, not foreign, the african american)...cause my mother is gone and I miss her a plenty. I've heard a lot of people call me crazy. A few of my brothers even have called me lazy (The same boys I gave up most of my life, time, and money to support. When no one else would do it for them, I did and this is how you repay me?). It seems like, I'm getting sadder everyday. Maybe it's because my mother, passed away (she die in June 1993). I'm so lonesome (Reminds me of an Elvis Presley song) why did it have to happen--to me? Oh Lord, I've got enough tears to fill a sea.

And if that wasn't enough, there's many people that don't understand, what I'm going through. They tell me to try talking to a friend and my father too. But it's just not that easy, you see, it's hard to find the words to describe how I feel inside. So, I lay awake at night, crying the tears away. Praying that I'll live to see the sun another day (Chubby, that's U!). Yet, I'm still lonesome, why did it have to happen--to me? Oh Lord, I've got enough tears to fill a sea. Everyone is invited. But YOU MUST have your invitation. You see, there will be a Messenger. He goes by the name of JESUS. Now, when this messenger comes a knocking at the door of your heart: LET HIM IN. So that he may deliver unto you SALVATION. Which is YOUR INVITATION TO ETERNAL LIFE!

Now, I know you're wondering How do I get this invitation? Put your life into the hands of Jesus and let him have his way. Now, I know some of you think it's too hard. But didn't you have to study hard to make good grades? Didn't you have to practice hard to become good in sports? Didn't you have to work hard to impress your boss so you could get a raise?

Now, think about it: HOW HARD ARE YOU WILLING TO WORK FOR JESUS?! The man who gets you through your trials and tribulations. Who GIVES YOU THE STRENGTH TO OVERCOME EVERY OBSTACLE! Someone may think that the cost is too high. Don't you know that Jesus ALREADY PAID THE COST FOR YOUR SINS?! So that you COULD BE SAVED! So that you COULD RECEIVE YOUR INVITATION TO ETERNAL LIFE!

Now, I'm asking: WON'T YOU COME AND GO WITH ME, TO MY FATHER'S HOUSE? The invitations are being delivered even as I speak. Just open the door to your heart. Then strive to be CHRIST LIKE by letting your light shine and being a witness where ever you go. INVITE OTHERS TO THE PARTY. It's called the HEAVENLY PARTY and it's gonna last forever!

Now, in my father's house. There's No Alcohol. No Drugs. No Gangs. You don't need money for rent or any other material thing. Just bring your invitation. Bring all those who are willing to answer the door when the messenger comes a knocking. Bring your praise shoes and ALL THE HALLELUJAHS YOU LIKE!

For, in my father's house: There's PEACE, JOY, AND HAPPINESS. ALL THAT YOU WANT. ALL THAT YOU NEED. IS IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE! Don't you wanna go?...

--written by Lefty2u2
(08/17/00, Revisions 02/18/07)

Christine E. As God's creation gives us the glimpse of what He can do, without being seen or heard. Yet, through the eyes, I can summarize, from this distance, in an instance--of what God can move..."In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). So by Him, all things can exist--as God created all and is all, that's good that you see. Like in the word, "To me belongeth vengeance..." (Deuteronomy 32:35), "And the Lord said, My Spirit shall not always strive with man..." (Genesis 6:3), "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalm 30:5) and so many other promises of things that was, is, and shall be.

In a matter of speaking, God's word giveth life and comes to life. If you want to know how Satan successfully got Eve to eat the fruit from The forbidden tree. If you want to know how Jesus performed miracle after miracle and no one could really figure Him out read the four Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And then go to Acts to read about what God means in Acts when it's laid to the root of the tree.

If you want to know how some of the "best" gave God some praise, turn to Psalms and learn how David was raised. If you want to "learn" a few parables and come into the knowledge of the truth turn to Proverbs and find "a word fitly spoken..." and just to reverence God for all that He has done, there are 66 Books in the Holy Bible for every 'one' name mentioned, God "moved" for all, not just the "some..."

Pharaoh would not let His people go and Pharaoh came to be "no more". Nebuchadnezzar had to "crawl" to see, God will get your attention and bring out the best in thee. Jonah fled and almost went down and got swallowed whole before he went "to town". Samson was a lion by trade and his job was "cut short" because he got delayed. Peter said he would not deny "the king" but "before the 'third', his mind did sing".

Paul (Saul) persecuted and got many a laugh, but "saw the light" and became more than half. John the Baptist brought up in water and gave "a good wash" but said there was One who had the power of more, who could let "a dove descend upon you with love". Enoch walked up and then went straight, no one saw him any more and said he'd reached "the pearly gates". Elijah was treated like royalty and left "his fire" with the one...

Mary gave birth to the only begotten Son. Ruth came in promise and "stood with loyalty" and in her end, was given "the treasure". Jeremiah could not contain his bones and found it a pleasure to not leave "well enough alone". Aaron was the voice and Moses did see, but neither or them "came to be". There was war after war, kingdom upon kingdom was destroyed and many a fright, "happened over night".

Water was parted, turned to wine, and poured from the most unexpected of places. And the "tower to Heaven" led to "scrambled races". Fisherman left their nets and caught more from "a work that's not finished yet..." A boat took float and contained the eight "by two's" and when the storm was calmed all spoken was real(ized). A donkey gave voice, an angel stood in the gap, and leaves "led the way" as hands did clap. Job was "taken down" but would not cuss and became "twice the power" as he did not fuss...

Joseph was sold by this own flesh and kin and during the "seven" he still achieved to win...Many got the mockery, and were "killed all the day..." all because they wouldn't turn the other way. Hezekiah went to the wall and received 15, as he "showed" he was called. In Ezekiel, there was a valley that contained the dead, when bones don't sing they cannot get ahead...Lamentations, oh how they did weep and in the Song of Solomon, wisdom did speak.

There was so much done, plenty was performed and spoken. The Holy Bible could not contain the miracles of THE ONE and that should be a good token (of how things got done)...That the word was life and comes to life, although it is "stilled", the promise was given in THE BOOK God willed. And all who listen and "open up" to see; they are the ones Whom HIS PEOPLE Shall Be...

-written by Lefty2u2(2001)

Revisions 2003 and 2007

References

All biblical scripture quotations, unless otherwise indicated, are taken from The Holy Bible: Old and New Testaments: Authorized King James Version®. No doubt you have agreed and disagreed with the comments. Everyone will not share the same opinions on rescues and evacuations. However, remember that every story has two sides.

JOURNALISM

Have You Ever Wanted to Learn...?

Remember when you never took time to call family, write a friend, or do something for someone in need? What if the opportunity passed you by and the "I will do that later..." never came around? How would you react if in trying to rescue a loved one, you had to bypass a friend. Things like this happen daily.

THE (AFTER) MATH: TRIAL AND ERROR

Some blame the government for people who drowned and were never rescued. There are even a few celebrities talking about "how it never should have happened..." Some of the same celebrities place limitations on people they will and will not help any other time. Did it ever occur to them that they are now helping some of the very same people they refused to help prior to Hurricane Katrina? There are still drug abusers, alcoholics, and criminals. Not just the "exceptional citizens" lost their loved ones, homes, and worldly possessions.

GOVERNMENT and POLITICS

Some Americans have forgotten the many crisis situations our government currently faces. For example, there is war. Social Security issues, fuel problems, and high unemployment rates. Also, other disaster areas are still under construction. Remember September 11, 2001? Remember the fires and mudslides in California? Remember the issues surrounding Oklahoma's bombings and sniper threats?

UNITED STATES HISTORY

While trying to point fingers and place blame elsewhere, people need to remember what they were doing before the hurricane and after the flood. Did anyone offer to take people to safety before Hurricane Katrina even hit New Orleans, Mississippi, and Alabama? Did someone have a boat that could have benefited the water rescues after the flood? Has everyone that can give--helped "the victims"? Money is not the only source of giving. At some point in life, everyone makes mistakes and comes short of perfection. Remember the phrases "no one is perfect" and to "strive for perfection"? If any one of us were perfect, there would be no need to LEARN, gather WISDOM, AND GET AN UNDERSTANDING.

The fact is that many people wait until a disaster occurs to "do something". No one knows when a loved one, friend, or neighbor will pass away. For many people, we are asked to "do something" by those we know quite often. Do we ever "get around to doing it"?

HUMAN STUDIES

At the very least, residents of New Orleans and Mississippi (the entire Gulf Coast really) were warned about Hurricane Katrina before it ever hit. They were given the opportunity to evacuate and most chose to stay. Some had no finances or means of transportation to leave. Yet, the majority could have left--including those amongst the death totals.

CRISIS INTERVENTION

What would be the reaction if someone had lost everything any other way? Would we give free education, food, clothing, and shelter? Exactly how much would we care if thousands were living on the streets (which they are) and had nothing? There are homeless people everyday. A hurricane does not wipe out an entire city everyday.

PSYCHOLOGY

Why blame anyone? At the most, people do not control the weather. Furthermore, I have heard that "warning comes before destruction" (it's even in the Bible). Perhaps you have heard the same?
